Meet Harish Bharadhwaj at the Catskill Mountain Yoga Festival – July 26, 4 PM

We’re honored to welcome Harish Bharadhwaj to the Catskill Mountain Yoga Festival on Friday, July 26 at 4:00 PM, where he will be speaking at the Vendor Village. His session, "Shakti Pranayama – Unlock The Power of Your Breath", explores yogic techniques for meditation, emotional cleansing, and breath control, offering powerful tools to support your journey toward inner transformation and balance.

In addition to speaking, Harish will also host a booth featuring his Indian Yogi meal kits — easy-to-use, vegan, and gluten-free cooking kits that bring authentic Indian flavors into your home. Stop by to explore the blends and enjoy a taste at the Vendor Village!

🕉️ From Breakdown to Breathwork: Harish’s Journey

“I was always a big believer in positive thinking,” Harish shares. “I listened to all the motivational speakers—they made me feel good in the moment. But none of them gave me a technique. I kept thinking positively… and still, I ended up losing everything—my house, my money—and I was living out of my car, wondering, what did I do wrong?

He continues, “The truth is, those uplifting feelings fade quickly when you're back facing your everyday life. Real change doesn’t happen just psychologically—it has to come from within.”

That turning point led him to the 8 limbs of yoga, where he discovered that most people only know yoga as physical postures—the third limb. “But the other seven limbs are about how you behave, how you process emotions, how you relate to your inner self, and how you begin to quiet the mind.”

Harish went on to spend years in India, studying with yogis who initiated him into Vaasi Yoga, an advanced and sacred form of breathwork from the Siddha lineage. “Vaasi Yoga totally transformed my life,” he says. “It doesn’t just relax you—it recalibrates the trajectory of your life.”

💨 The Breath That Changes Everything

In the process of healing himself, Harish developed a clear, accessible system for others—
Shakti Pranayama – Unlock The Power of Your Breath.
This practice integrates ancient yogic techniques into a daily structure to help regulate emotion, access stillness, and rewire your inner responses.

“You can’t just think your way to happiness,” Harish says. “The concept of positive thinking is valid, but the way it’s often explained is fundamentally incomplete. Human emotions don’t work like that. You can’t sustain positive thoughts without first shifting what’s happening inside the body. You have to change your biology so your psychology can follow. You don’t have to police every thought when your system is aligned. And to do that… you have to go deep, through the breath.

🌄 The Reset Retreat: A Deeper Experience

For those who want to go beyond a one-time class, Harish offers a 4-day immersive experience called the Reset Retreat, where participants are initiated into the practice of Vaasi Yoga.

“I spent over a year living in an ashram,” he shares. “And what I noticed was this: people came to escape their problems. The ashram gave them space, but not the tools to dissolve those problems. When they left, the problems were still waiting for them. Vaasi Yoga guides you deeper inward so you can truly resolve, not just retreat.
